    Abergavenny Farmers Trust - Educational Awards - open to students in 75 mile radius of Abergavenny

    The Abergavenny Farmers Trust is a registered charity, with funds available for the making of grants to eligible applicants, who wish to undertake/are undertaking a FULL TIME course of study in an agricultural or forestry subject, and who have a genuine need for financial support in order to undertake their course.

    To be eligible for this award you must:

    • reside within 75 miles of the former Abergavenny Cattle Market, or
    • have attended for one year or more at an educational establishment in the area of the former Abergavenny Cattle Market and intend to follow a full time course of study in or connected with the practice of Agriculture or Forestry.

    Please note if you are currently on placement then you are not eligible to apply for this award.

    Trust Aims & Objectives

    The advancement of Education, in particular through awarding scholarships, bursaries or maintenance allowances, tenable at any educational establishment approved by the Trustees, to persons who or whose parents or guardians, reside within a radius of 75 miles of the former Abergavenny Cattle Market, or who have attended or have for not less than one year attended, an educational establishment in the said area and who intend to follow a FULL TIME course in or connected with the science or practice of agriculture by the provision of financial help and/or travel grants to such persons and to publish the results of any research and disseminate them and to widely promote the science, practice and excellence of agriculture.
