    The Dunbia Scholarship is open to all 2nd year BSc or 1st year FdSc students studying at HAU who are looking for a career in the meat processing industry with Dunbia. A placement year with Dunbia must be suitable for your course area. 

    The Scholarship

    Dunbia may award one scholarship and, if awarded, the successful recipient will receive:

    • a significant contribution towards their education of £4,500 
    • employment within the Food Safety, Quality & Animal Welfare department at Dunbia during their placement year
    • a supported learning and development framework, training, a mentor and regular reviews.
    • subject to a review at the end of placement with Dunbia there may be an opportunity of a place on the company’s Graduate Programme and the potential for further funding in the scholar’s final academic year.

    A condition of your scholarship is that you undertake your placement year within the Food Safety, Quality & Animal Welfare Department at Dunbia (various locations available).

    The award will be paid in two equal parts; half to be paid in February 2025 and the remaining balance in May 2025.

    This is a competitive award which will be evaluated on merit of the submitted application, academic achievements to date and interview. The decision of the Dunbia Scholarship panel is FINAL.

    Deadline for Submission of Application: 12pm Noon Monday 18 November 2024

    The Dunbia Scholarship includes a placement, therefore you must submit your application via the Student Dashboard placement pages.  Paper copies will not be accepted.

    Please note: you may only apply for a maximum of three placement based scholarships.
