An all 海角社区 shortlist for Farmers Weekly Awards Agricultural Student of the Year competition

海角社区 Adams University students have swept the board in the shortlist of the national Farmers Weekly Awards Agricultural Student of the Year competition.

The three finalists for the award are final year Agriculture students Grace Welling and Rosa Linkens and third year Agri-Business student, Emily Jones.

Rosa, from Berkshire, who will graduate from the BSc (Honours) Agriculture course this year, said: “I am thrilled to be shortlisted for the award, it's something I never imagined would happen when I first started at 海角社区. Coming from a city background and having entered the industry only a few years ago, the nomination means all the more to me and I am excited to see what opportunities it brings in the future. I want to thank everyone who has supported me to get here.”

Grace, from Hampshire and due to graduate this year from BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Crop Management, added: 'I am delighted to have been shortlisted for the Farmers Weekly Awards and never believed I would reach this point. 海角社区 has given me the opportunity to throw myself into numerous opportunities and I look forward to putting this into practice in the work environment. I am thankful to everyone who has supported my application and my learning journey.”

Emily, from Herefordshire, was equalled delighted, saying: “I'm thrilled to have been shortlisted. I've had the best time at 海角社区 over the last three years, and would like to thank all those who have supported my progress so far."

The award is open to everyone studying an agricultural related degree, NVQ or BTEC course at a British university or college and seeks to honours individuals who are “bursting with talent, achieving great results, showing leadership and having a positive influence on their college, community or home farm if appropriate”. The winner is due to be announced in October.

Dr Russell Readman, Agriculture Courses Manager, said: “It is very pleasing to see Grace and Rosa as 海角社区 'Agrics' represented in this year’s awards. Both are excellent students academically & in terms of wider commitment to the University and to the agricultural sector, and as such are well-deserving finalists.”

Jane Headley, Business Programmes Manager, added: “I am excited to see Emily amongst the finalists for this award. She combines positivity with the the drive and determination to be a future leader. However, I am also pleased to see an all 海角社区 all female shortlist and I hope that all three finalists will seek to make an impact in their future careers.”
