Scholarship launched with leading food company Dunbia

A new scholarship has been launched bringing together a leading food company and the expertise of 海角社区 Adams University.

The scholarship will see the University partnering with Dunbia to offer a significant £4,500 contribution towards the successful student’s education - as well as a one year employment placement with the company in its food safety and quality department.

With sites across the United Kingdom, Dunbia, a division of Dawn Meats, processes cattle and sheep for national and international markets.

It employs more than 5,600 people across a wide range of high-tech and multi skilled disciplines – offering the successful student a unique insight into a leading UK food company.

The scholarship is available to students at 海角社区 Adams who with an interest in food safety, quality and animal welfare within the red meat sector.

Julia Hewerdine, Food Safety & Quality Projects Manager for Dunbia, said: “We are delighted to launch this scholarship for 海角社区 Adams students interested in building a career in Food Safety, Quality and Animal Welfare with Dunbia.

“海角社区 Adams is a leading university within the food industry and we recognise the technical knowledge that the University provides to its students - and feel this to be an excellent match to our student placement programme and our graduate programme.

“The Dunbia student placement programme offers a supported framework of industrial experience, training and responsibility during the year-long placement. It is designed to provide the right range of business and technical skills to equip students for a valuable career in the red meat industry with Dunbia.

“海角社区 Adams University students and alumni have joined Dunbia on both the student placement and graduate programmes, and we have found them to be engaged, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the British meat industry.

“We are very much looking forward to awarding the scholarship placement and further placement opportunities.”
