    EcoInsect Research Project

    Abstract

This research project is key to determining the viability of Black Soldier Fly larvae and leachate as sustainable products.

    Description

The research aims to validate (i) initial findings from academic research that live BSF larvae and leachate provide solutions to existing challenges; (ii) the cost effectiveness of the products; and (iii) automation of the production process to allow for commercialisation.    This research project will also provide critical new knowledge and knowhow on the optimal inclusion rates for BSF larvae in the poultry feed and applications rates of leachate for various crops to optimise the products’ cost benefits/efficiencies.
